About Tempo Kit

Tempo Kit grew out of something I kept running into while practicing: the things I needed were scattered everywhere.

A metronome in one place. A tuner somewhere else. A lesson or recording open in the browser. Notes I'd forget to reopen. Then I'd have to remember what I was working on and where I'd stopped.

When you finally have time to play, setting everything up can take more energy than you expected.

I wanted a practice workspace that made starting easier, helped me pick up where I left off, and made the most of the time I had. That idea became Tempo Kit.

You can be serious about music even when music isn't your whole life.

I'm a musician and software engineer. Guitar is my main instrument. I've played guitar for more than ten years, though that hasn't meant ten years of continuous practice. Much of my learning has been self-directed: songs, books, videos, listening, experimenting, and figuring things out by ear.

Music has always shared space with school, work, other interests, and responsibilities. Some periods leave room to play a lot. Others leave very little, and there have been long stretches when I haven't played at all.

I've learned that liking music and having time for music are two different things. You can want to improve and still have real limits.

We don't all have the same musical goals, either. You might be preparing for a performance, learning a song you love, exploring an instrument, or finding your way back after time away.

That shapes how I build Tempo Kit. I want it to help you use the time you have, remember what you were working on, and keep a record of the work you're putting in.

Tempo Kit brings practice tools together in a workspace you can arrange around what you're doing.

The project keeps growing through my own practice and feedback. I use it while learning songs, working through difficult passages, recording myself, and exploring ideas.

The goal is simple: spend less energy managing practice and more of it making music.

Your routine might change, but I want it to be easier to return to what you were working on—not rebuild your setup every time.
